At the end of the year 1945 Relianz AG was founded by the Welti-Furrer Company in Zurich, working in logistics. Gustav Engeler sen. was in charge of this new company. The initial purpose was ‘Trading with all kinds of Merchandises’, but soon the company concentrated mainly on repairing and trading with second hand jute bags.
1952 Gustav Engeler had the possibility to buy all the shares of this company and he opened in Bonstetten (nearby Zurich) a factory for new and second hand jute bags. At the same time was also started the trading with these products.
During the following decades Relianz AG expanded also into European foreign countries with own subsidiaries. At the same period the assortment of goods was enlarged by bag packaging material in paper and synthetics, by thus adapting constantly to the ever increasing requirements of our customers.
Today the group is already directed by the third generation of the Engeler family who also owns subsidiaries in Austria, France and Italy.
Out of the initial bag factory Relianz AG has been converted into an international trading company for bag packaging material of all kinds as well as natural cloths and fibres. It goes without saying that our main object is to fully concentrate on the requirements of the needs of each of our customers.
